How to hack people
The biggest threat to the security of a company is not a computer virus, an unpatched hole in a key program or a badly installed firewall. In fact, the biggest threat could be you.
So says Kevin Mitnick, and he should know.

INSIDE TRACK: Cutting internet waiting time
Internet transfer speed record broken again - 483 megabits per second
The record was set over an ordinary internet connection running for 2,518km between Slovenia and Spain, using the new Ipv6 protocol. While the technique has been available for some years, most parts of the internet do not use the protocol because to do so would require extensive upgrading of hardware and software. In setting the record, 483mb of data were transferred in 11.73 seconds, equating to a speed of 1215 terabits per second, from Ljubljana in Slovenia to Madrid, via Milan, Geneva and Vienna.

The "E.T.PC"
Peter Li staged his own alien autopsy and went one stage further - strengthening and then filling E.T.'s guts with an EPIA 800. Ouch. He's added some nice touches, like a voice module and the obligatory finger light. Peter is planning to make a series of Mini-ITX-inside-o'Toys as Christmas presents for his close friends and family. Let's just hope the children don't have to give up their fluffy toys for such butchery first...

Henpeck worm cons MSN chat crowd
The worm tricks users into clicking on a link to download malicious software. It also installs a back-door program for future mischief A worm has spread among MSN Messenger users by fooling them into downloading an infectious file from the Internet, antivirus firms said on Thursday.
Known as Henpeck, the worm used MSN's chat network to send messages containing a link to a malicious online file, called BR2002.exe. People who clicked the link triggered a download of the file and inadvertently ran the infectious program. The worm then sent instant messages to everyone on a victim's buddy list.

Device Allows for Employee Thought Monitoring
Webspionage Corporation, maker of employee monitoring software and Brainco, manufacturer of EEG machines, have partnered to create the ultimate employee monitoring tool. A patented algorithm analyzes brainwave data and determines if employees are thinking of work or about what to eat for lunch. A flexible alarm system can allow for various levels of non-work thinking and alerts. A manager can be notified by e-mail each time an employee has a non-work thought, or an air horn can be wired to alert of pornographic thoughts.
