nannte sich die Computing Tabulating Recording Company (CTR) in International Business Machines (IBM) um. Die expandierende Firma, die vom deutschstämmigen <a href="wwwstud.fh-zwickau.de"target="_blank">Herman Hollerith gegründet worden war, baute auf den ganzen Welt Fabriken und wollte die internationale Ausrichtung im Namen zur Geltung bringen.

This view demonstrates the hierarchical relationships of Newsgroups in the Usenet. The relative sizes of the boxes are based on the number of Posts per Newsgroup for a month. Variations in color indicate the change in the number of Posts for this month compared to last month. Green means that the number of Posts in that Newsgroup increased; red means that the number of Posts decreased. The higher the intensity, the larger the change in Posts.

What is Pornzilla?
The goal of the Pornzilla project is to make Mozilla into a great porn browser. We contribute to Mozilla directly, promote bookmarklets and extensions that enhance porn surfing, and maintain a list of bugs that impact porn surfing. Pornzilla is not an official mozilla.org project.

Download a RealPlayer version that doesn't suck
"The BBC made a unique deal with Real Networks which disposes of their spyware tactics. Basically, if a user clicks on a link to download Real Player from a BBC website, the referrer script sends them to a page where they can download an expiry-free, spyware-free and nuicance-free version of the player."

Create a Hoax, Earn Damnation
The Overclockers.com website published a barely believable hoax last week detailing the gutting of a brand new and very expensive Power Mac G5. This brought on an unbelievable reaction from the Mac community.
The hoaxer, identified only as "Andy," claimed he received a dual-processor G5 for Christmas. But preferring a Windows PC, he swapped out the insides of the $3,000 machine for the guts of a cheapo PC. The post included several digital photographs to prove the outrageous claim.

Teen hacker triggered nuclear terrorism alert
A British teenager has narrowly escaped jail after sparking a nuclear panic by hacking into a top secret United States weapons laboratory.
Joseph McElroy, 18, who on Monday was ordered to serve a 200-hour community punishment order, bypassed the facility's electronic security systems with sophisticated software he had developed and nicknamed Deathserv.
McElroy wanted to use the advanced network's power to download and store films and music from the internet.

First Sony Blu-Ray recoder sales scheduled for May
The first Blu-Ray recorder (405nm) from Sony is scheduled to hit the market on May,2004.Two different models will be available and are mainly addressed for professional and business data archieve. The Sony BW-RS101 will offer an Ultra 160 SCSI interface, while the second model (June 2004) will be equiped with USB 2.0 interface. The SCSI model will cost 3,200 EUR and the price for the USB 2.0 version is expected to be 200 EUR higher. The company will also launch auto disk-loaders for both drive models.
