The Internet's Wilder Side
IT was just another Wednesday on the sprawling Internet chat-room network known as I.R.C. In a room called Prime-Tyme-Movies, users offered free pirated downloads of "The Passion of the Christ'' and "Kill Bill Vol. 2.'' In the DDO-Matrix channel, illegal copies of Microsoft's Windows software and "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,'' an Xbox game, were ripe for downloading. In other chat rooms yesterday, whole albums of free MP3's were hawked with blaring capital letters. And in a far less obtrusive channel, a hacker may well have been checking his progress of hacking into the computers of unsuspecting Internet users.

What is Damn Small Linux?
Damn Small Linux is a business card size (50MB) bootable Live CD Linux DEBIAN distribution. Despite its minuscule size it strives to have a functional and easy to use desktop.
Why? Because having a working Linux desktop distro on a 50 mb bootable business card CD is just too cool not to do.

For about six hours yesterday, the staff of eWEEK.com was treated to a lesson in emergency improvisation. But thanks to 123 lines of Python code, running on a $7-a-month personal Web site on an Apache Web server somewhere in California, you probably didn't notice.

My first personal computer was Macintosh LC . Thereafter I have been strongly attracted to Macs. Macs have incredibly changed in the past. I believe Macs will have great evolutions many times in the future. In this homepage, I display my imaginary designs of future apple products.

She doesn't care about the ads, but diligently keeps count — it's $0.18 to $0.25 per click. Witness box watchers know that Bill Gates is no stranger to unawareness when it comes to culpability, so will be unsurprised to learn that he was personally unaware of two stock transaction violations perpetrated by Cascade Investments, his investment company, on his behalf. Nor is it unusual for money to be paid on his behalf in order to resolve issues for which he has neither responsibility nor guilt, so the $800,000 tab to the Federal Trade Commission is no shock either.

Popups warnen den Anwender
In Zukunft sollen Anwender von Microsoft Windows und Office, durch Popups vor 'unsicheren' Aktionen warnen. So soll zum Beispiel ein Popup geöffnet werden, wenn ein User eine Email mit Dateinanhäng öffnet. Dieses warnt dann vor den möglichen Viren.
