The First Computer
A mysterious device found in Greek waters was not brought by aliens, but it was used by ancient Greeks to track distant stars. In 1901, divers recovered a shoebox-size, gear-filled box from a 2,000-year-old shipwreck on the floor of the Mediterranean Sea. Ever since, the enigmatic box—known as the Antikythera Mechanism—has spawned its share of bizarre theories. "Some people thought it came from outer space," scoffs Athens University physicist Yanis Bitsakis. "And since the mechanism has Greek writing on it, the other ridiculous story is that Greeks themselves came from outer space and brought the mechanism with them." More sober minds suggested the box was a clock or a navigational device, but even those interpretations rested on skimpy evidence.

YouTube - The Complete Profile
One of the companies that would easily classify as a poster-startup for Web 2.0 is YouTube. Since its launch in February 2005, it’s managed to attract crowds, cross milestones, create fads, top lists, and even get a mention at this year’s Emmys! Founded by three early PayPal employees, YouTube is a free service that lets users upload, share, and view video clips. It’s been the center of a lot of discussion lately, so I thought it would be interesting to profile YouTube from top-to-bottom and discover the ideas behind its history, business, features, culture, sections, and phenomenon.

What is The Levelator?
It's software that runs on Windows or OS X (universal binary) that adjusts the audio levels within your podcast or other audio file for variations from one speaker to the next, for example. It's not a compressor, normalizer or limiter although it contains all three. It's much more than those tools, and it's much simpler to use. The UI is dirt-simple: Drag-and-drop any WAV or AIFF file onto The Leveler's application window, and a few moments later you'll find a new version which just sounds better.

OSX 10.4.8 on your Windows computer!
There are only two ways to install OSX 10.4.88 legal on your Windows computer: 1. Become an Apple developer 2. You can also buy an Intel Mac (I would recommend the Mac Pro!), install Windows XP on it using Apple’s Boot Camp and remove OSX completely, so that you have a legally bought osx86 licence. This method isn’t confirmed and some people say it’s illegal because the EULA says that you aren’t allowed to install OSX on non-Apple hardware.
