Al Qaeda Training Manual Complete
In the year since the September 11 attacks, few more chilling documents have emerged than "Military Studies in the Jihad Against the Tyrants," a how-to terrorism manual that investigators believe has been used by followers of Osama bin Laden.
The 180-page volume, seized from the Manchester, England home of a bin Laden disciple, offers jihad members guidance on subjects such as assassination, forging documents, and preparing poisons in its 18 chapters.

Bin Laden ruft Iraker zum heiligen Krieg gegen die USA auf
Der arabische Nachrichtensender al-Dschasira hat eine neue Tonbandaufnahme mit der Stimme von Osama bin Laden veröffentlicht. Darin wird allen Ländern mit Anschlägen gedroht wird, die den Irak-Krieg unterstützt haben. Zugleich werden die Iraker zum Widerstand gegen die amerikanischen Truppen aufgerufen.

Spain links suspect in 9/11 plot to Baghdad
An alleged terrorist accused of helping the 11 September conspirators was invited to a party by the Iraqi ambassador to Spain under his al-Qaeda nom de guerre, according to documents seized by Spanish investigators.
Yusuf Galan, who was photographed being trained at a camp run by Osama bin Laden, is now in jail, awaiting trial in Madrid. The indictment against him, drawn up by investigating judge Baltasar Garzon, claims he was 'directly involved with the preparation and carrying out of the attacks ... by the suicide pilots on 11 September'.

Alleged 9/11 mastermind in custody
Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, was handed over to the United States and taken to an undisclosed location following his arrest in Pakistan, a senior government official said Sunday.

World Trade Center Design Finalists to Be Whittled Down to Two
Officials overseeing the effort to rebuild ground zero met privately Monday to pick the final two designs to replace the World Trade Center. A design that evokes the original trade center with twin latticework towers, and another that exposes the foundation walls of the old towers emerged as leading contenders in recent discussions. The finalists were expected to be announced Tuesday, with a final choice to be made later this month.

Germany allows irony on the web
A German court has cleared a man over the nature of comments about the 11 September attacks he posted on the internet. Holger Voss was accused of "glorification of a criminal act" after appearing to praise the hijackers in comments he has insisted were meant sarcastically.

Gaudi design proposed for WTC
Architectural plans by the late Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi are to be submitted to an international memorial competition for redesigns of New York's former World Trade Center site. Gaudi's 95-year-old plans, which were originally designs for a futuristic hotel about the same size as the Empire State building, will be entered into the competition this spring by a group of art historians, architects and enthusiasts of his work.
