Germany sued over fake Parmesan

The EU’s executive Commission has taken Germany to the top European court for failing to stop the sale of fake Parmesan cheese. The Italian cheese, formally called Parmigiano Reggiano, has had a European Union trademark since 1996. It can only be made in a designated region of northern Italy that includes Parma and Reggio Emilia, using a set recipe.
