German lawmakers in uproar after brothel buys parliament's flag
German lawmakers were fuming after a brothel bought a German flag used atop the Reichstag parliament building in an Internet auction to advertise its services. Christiane Schmittroth, the 42-year-old madam of a bordello in the central city of Halle, offered the winning bid of 3,350 euros (4,020 dollars) in an online auction that drew 29,636 offers, according to a report in Friday's edition of the mass-selling Bild newspaper.
