Professor faces three years for file sharing


33-year-old assistant professor at the University of Tokyo, creator of file sharing software and advocate of it's use, Isamu Kaneko, was arrested Monday on copyright-related charges.

The charge is developing and offering software that lets people swap movies and video games anonymously.

For violating copyright laws Kaneko risk up to three years in prison or a fine of up to 3 million yen ($27,000).
