Man Acquitted of kidnapping after almost 90 years, thanks to DNA
William Cantwell Walters was convicted in 1914 for the kidnapping of a 4 years old boy, 90 years later, science has acquitted him of these charges through DNA testing.
Apparently, test results confirm that the child Walters was found with was not the 4 years old missing boy, Bobby Dunbar. Rather the child with Walters was an illegitimate son of Walter's brother. Walters was convicted of kidnapping, but the verdict was overturned. The child found with Walters was raised as Bobby Dunbar. Only recently did Dunbar's relations take initiative, after research, to arrange for DNA testing.
