Sauerkraut seeks new image
Germans may be known around the world as "krauts" because of their fondness for chopped pickled cabbage, but sauerkraut producers fear demand is sliding and are trying to give the vegetable a new image.
How about sauerkraut as a topping on pizza? Or sauerkraut sushi? Sauerkraut spring rolls? Sauerkraut lasagna? Or sauerkraut fish gratin? Ever had sauerkraut stuffed peppers? Peppermint sauerkraut sorbet? Or even sauerkraut cakes?
