Minnesota Girl Launches Balloon, Gets Reply from Salzburg, Austria
From Savage to Salzburg, it had traveled more than 4,600 miles.
It took nearly all of 2003 for a Twin Cities child's great balloon experiment to pay off. And it paid off in an amazing way.
Like millions of kids before them three girls released balloons with notes asking the finder to write them.
That was February. A letter arrived in early December — where it came from surprised everyone involved.
