After countless false starts, some tantalising concepts and far too many years, Lamborghini finally got round to launching an entry-level model in March 2003. The first baby machine from Sant' Agata since 1982 then, the Gallardo project was begun back in 1998 when Audi took control of the Italian manufacturer and started its design with a clean sheet of paper.
