Currying flavour in ice-cream war

Unilever, the world's biggest ice-cream maker, has outlined a plan to battle for the world's taste buds using new flavours such as curry and cheese in its drive to revive sales and fend off rival Nestle.

The Anglo-Dutch consumer goods giant, home to brands such as Ben & Jerry's and Magnum, will increase its investment in ice cream by 20 percent by spending an additional 150 million euros (102 million pounds) over three years on promotion and innovation.
