Tijuana: Magnet on Mexico's Northern Border
In both good and bad ways, Tijuana profits from its unique position on the frontier between Mexico and the USA. People smugglers and drug dealers bring money into the city, gang crime and the drug trade flourish. The tightening of border controls since September 11, 2001, has turned border traffic into a test of perseverance.
