Austrian leader's party makes large gains over far right peer
Voters have handed a clear victory to Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel's conservative party in the Austrian parliamentary elections. But his coalition partner, the anti-immigration party of Joerg Haider, was pounded at the polls, according to preliminary results.
