Austrian People's Party wins, Haider's Freedom Party plummets
Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel's People's
Party (OVP) won parliamentary election in Austria Sunday but the votes for his coalition partner Freedom Party (FPO) plummeted.
"The result was unexpected but thank God it's a clear result," People's Party leader Schuessel said after results were announced. Schuessel now has the choice of choosing a coalition partner or trying to form a minority government.
