Haider's party loses in Austria polls
Austria's governing conservatives surged to post-World War II highs in national elections yesterday, but their controversial junior coalition partner, the Joerg Haider-dominated Freedom Party, slumped badly, leaving uncertain the future composition of the country's next government, according to exit polls and early vote counts.
