Austrian leader wins
Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel's conservative party made large gains to dominate parliamentary elections yesterday, according to initial results. But his coalition partner, the anti-immigration party of Joerg Haider, was pounded at the polls, the results released by state television showed.
