AUSTRIA GOES TO THE POLLS
Austrians go to the polls today to choose a new government in a wide-open race. A quarter of its voters are said to be undecided and extremist right-wing leader Joerg Haider's Freedom Party is facing meltdown. Europe's most successful extremist party had formed a joint government with the conservative People's Party in 1999.
