The Large Hadron Collider has been recreated in Lego

Sasha Mehlhase, a post doc from the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen has spent approximately 81 hours of work end EURO 2,000 to build a model of CERN's Large Hadron Collider's Atlas detector...out of LEGO bricks. All in all 9,500 LEGO brics were used on the model which is made in a 1:50 scale. His idea is to use the model for alternative learning - fx on events such as the Culture Night in Copenhagen. Sasha Mehlhase is currently working on a manual for construction of his model, so it can be reproduced.
