Rabbits Gone Wild

The European rabbit, the source species for every pet rabbit variety, was introduced long ago to places as far afield as Australia and North America. While cute and cuddly, the little lagomorphs breed, well, like rabbits. There’s no doubt of the species’ proliferative potential around the campus of the University of Victoria, which has become overrun with bunnies. Hundreds of visitors convening there over the weekend to discuss literature and nature were bemused by the flocks of cottontails nibbling grass as students and campus workers passed without a second glance.
