HISTORY OF THE TEQUILA EXPRESS "LA LEYENDA"
Wherever and whenever one mentions the word tequila or talk about the music of mariachi or a sport known as charreria, people inmediatly that you are talking about Mexico. Thus, in order to exalt, strengthen and vivify these three pillars of the mexican identity, the Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Guadalajara conceived and created in 1994 what is known today as the Annual International Meeting of Mariachi and Charreria.
Within the framework of the 4th edition of this meeting, the tourist journey “Tequila Express, La Leyenda” came to life. It’s a journey in train to one of the zones of Jalisco where Agave (from wich tequila is extracted) proliferates. The trip culminates in the guided tour of the ranch called Hacienda San José del Refugio where the tequila Herradura is produced. This hacienda is located in the municipality of Amatitan, Jalisco, Mexico.
