Art of the Psychedelic Era
James Kalm takes a trip down memory lane with this controversial exhibition. With a look back of over forty years, the romanticism and exotic joy that was offered by the psychedelic revolution is still attracting devotees and influencing artists. Admittedly the music was fabulous, the social changes breathtaking, but lesser known was the broad influence of the poster designers who were promoting every thing from concerts to protest demonstrations. A great proportion of this show is dedicated to documentation of the personalities and times. Included are images of Timothy Leary, Alan Ginsberg, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Abdul Mati Klarwein, Richard Lindner, Isaac Abrams and others.
