The Psychiatric Mafia
Not so long ago, the actor Tom Cruise made a few pointed criticisms of psychiatry on the Today Show and was widely attacked for doing so. It seems that anyone who speaks out publicly against psychiatry draws the ire of detractors. Hardly surprising. A great many families in the US and Canada have members who are receiving psychiatric treatment, even if it happens to be one of the kids on a daily dose of Ritalin. More and more people have a vested interest in remaining mum about a profession that is creating untold pycho-emotional damage, even as it increases its power and influence .
