September 11: Bearing Witness to History
The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, Behring Center, is a place to reflect on the experiences that define us as a nation. The tragic events of last September have challenged this museum to fulfill its responsibility to the American people in new ways—to collect history as it is happening, to preserve the story of September 11 while it is still unfolding.
