Far-right discovers winning is not everything
Impassioned rhetoric is one thing; the humdrum business of government another, Europe's populist and rightwing politicians are starting to discover. The pressures that led Jörg Haider to pull the plug this week on his Freedom party's participation in Austria's ruling coalition are likely to be felt by other parties that rose to prominence on a wave of discontent with mainstream politics.
