Could rain trigger a volcano’s blast?


Monitoring rainfall may help predict when the world’s most dangerous volcanoes are about to erupt. Volcanologists have discovered that heavy rain can trigger the most dangerous type of eruption, called a dome collapse, which has caused most of the volcano-related deaths in the past 100 years.
