Ob für unsere Computer, E-Mails oder Bankkonten: Passwörter sind heute meist das Mittel der Wahl, um sich in der digitalen Welt zu authentifizieren. In jüngster Vergangenheit sind Anbietern von Internetdiensten häufiger auch millionenfach die Passwörter ihrer Nutzer "abhanden" gekommen. Wir möchten ergründen wie Passworte funktioneren, was ein gutes und was ein schlechtes Passwort ist und wie es in unterschiedlichen Situationen verwendet werden sollte. Außerdem wollen wir diskutieren, wie Passwörter sicher gespeichert werden und welcher Werkzeuge sich dunkle Gestalten bemächten, um sie zu knacken.

Out in the Open: Hackers Build a Skype That’s Not Controlled by Microsoft
The web forum 4chan is known mostly as a place to share juvenile and, to put it mildly, politically incorrect images. But it’s also the birthplace of one of the latest attempts to subvert the NSA’s mass surveillance program.
When whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed that full extent of the NSA’s activities last year, members of the site’s tech forum started talking about the need for a more secure alternative to Skype. Soon, they’d opened a chat room to discuss the project and created an account on the code hosting and collaboration site GitHub and began uploading code.

Die Jungen Grünen lassen im Rahmen einer drogenpolitischen Tour drei Wochen lang einen Riesenjoint durch Österreich gehen. Ziel sei es, "Eltern, Großeltern und Bekannte zu überzeugen, dass eine Legalisierung von Cannabis einfach vernünftig ist", so Bundessprecherin Diana Witzani in einer Aussendung.

Bundesregierung legt Berufung gegen Urteil zum Eigenanbau von Cannabis als Medizin ein
Das Bundesinstitut für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte hat Berufung gegen das Urteil des Verwaltungsgerichts Köln vom 22. Juli, das einigen Schwerkranken den Eigenanbau von Cannabis zur Linderung ihrer Schmerzen erlaubt hätte, eingelegt. Dies teilte Matthias Schillo, der Anwalt eines Klägers, am Freitag mit.

Joints als Rettung
Am Montag vor zwei Wochen, morgens um sieben Uhr, klopfte bei mir die Polizei. Die Beamten hatten einen richterlichen Durchsuchungsbeschluss: Ich wurde verdächtigt, eine Indoor-Plantage zu besitzen. Das stimmte. In meinem Keller hatte ich 40 Cannabispflanzen angebaut. Obwohl die Beamten sehr freundlich waren, fühlte ich mich bloßgestellt. Ich bin ein Familienvater, der immer hart gearbeitet hat – kein drogensüchtiger Dealer.
