Adobe cache snafu delivers free movie downloads
A security hole in Adobe Systems Inc software, used to distribute movies and TV shows over the Internet, is giving users free access to record and copy from Amazon.com Inc's video streaming service.
The problem exposes online video content to the rampant piracy that plagued the music industry during the Napster era and is undermining efforts by retailers, movie studios and television networks to cash in on a huge Web audience.

Einstein's green refrigerator making a comeback
While almost everybody knows how Einstein revolutionized physics with his theories of relativity, many people may not know that the great scientist had a domestic side, too. Well, sort of - in 1930, Einstein and his former student Leo Szilard designed a refrigerator that required no electricity and had no moving parts. However, as refrigerator technology became more efficient, Einstein's design was nearly forgotten.

Europe aims for universal broadband by 2010
The European Commission today outlined a goal for all European Union member states to have access to high-speed Internet access by 2010. Calling broadband an "essential condition" for a good economy, Commissioner Viviane Reding likens fast Internet access to a basic utility and explains that certain countries are at an inherent disadvantage due to the absence of at least some form of broadband coverage in some areas. Only 40 percent of Romanians have the option of access faster than dial-up, the official mentions in one example.

Er tut das, was er am besten kann: Strahlen. Werner Faymann streckt seinen Kopf in die Höhe und schaut ins Publikum. Im SPÖ-Festzelt nur wenige Meter vom Burgtheater entfernt, klatschen sie wie wild in die Hände. Aus den Lautsprechern dröhnt jetzt "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow", Faymann steht auf der Bühne und lässt sich feiern. Er trägt einen dunklen Anzug, dazu eine grau-blaue Krawatte, er sieht vornehm aus. Gerührt blickt er in die Runde. "Wir wollen", sagt er unter lautem Applaus, "eine Regierung bilden".

Jan Leonardo Wollert and Jorg Miedza (LAPP)
Die Light Art Performance Photography ist noch ziemlich jung. Vor ungefähr einem Jahr habe haben zwei Bremer Lichtkunstfotografen begonnen sie zu entwickeln. Alles fing damit an, dass einer der beiden über Nacht in einem alten Speicher im Bremer Hafen eingeschlossen wurde. An diesem Abend probierte er das erste mal zwei Flächenlampen aus, die er einmal bei Ebay gekauft, aber nie ausprobiert hatte. Das Resultat war das erste LAPP Foto und der Anfang einer neuen Herangehensweise (die Technik war noch nicht definiert).

Last week Canon announced the long awaited replacement for their full-frame 5D DSLR camera, the 5D Mark II. Their new camera features 21.1 megapixels, a DIGIC 4 processor with 14-bit analog-to-digital conversion, LiveView mode, anti-dust technology and increased ISO sensitivity.
