'Anonymous' Member Unmasked, Charged With Web Attack on Scientology
An 18-year-old New Jersey man agreed to plead guilty to federal computer hacking charges Friday for participating in a denial-of-service attack against Church of Scientology websites, as part of collective of online troublemakers known as "Anonymous."
Dmitriy Guzner is charged with a single felony count of unauthorized impairment of a protected computer for the January distributed denial-of-service attack. He faces a likely sentence of 12 to 18 months in prison based on stipulations in his plea agreement, which also obliges him to pay $37,500 in restitution.

And according to Small's new book, "iBRAIN: Surviving the Technological Alteration of the Modern Mind," a dramatic shift in how we gather information and communicate with one another has touched off an era of rapid evolution that may ultimately change the human brain as we know it. "Perhaps not since early man first discovered how to use a tool has the human brain been affected so quickly and so dramatically," he writes. "As the brain evolves and shifts its focus towards new technological skills, it drifts away from fundamental social skills."

Kurz nach Mitternacht sind vermutlich mehrere Täter in die Innsbrucker Hauptpost eingedrungen. Sie entwendeten mehrere Schließfächer und einen Tresor. Da Alarm ausgelöst wurde, war die Polizei an Ort und Stelle, zog mangels Einbruchsspuren aber wieder ab.

Even on his most homicidal of days, Al Pacino's character in Scarface couldn't even approach the level of drug trafficking-related brutality bleeding down Mexico's streets. It is no longer unusual for the Mexican news media to report on yet another, freshly decapitated head stuck atop a fencepost or a metal spike, or a garbage bag filled with body parts, usually with a hand-scrawled note or placard attached. That amounts to a cartel's calling card, and it's usually delivered in the form of a warning to a rival cartel, or for the Mexican authorities to stay away and stop seizing their drugs.

Der Countdown läuft: An diesem Dienstag landen Aliens von der Förderation des Lichts auf der Erde - behauptet zumindest das Medium Blossom Goodchild. Nach Jahren heimlichen Wachens über Barack Obama und die restliche Menschheit wollen die Außerirdischen sich zeigen. Endlich.
Die gute Nachricht vorab: Die Aliens, die sich (wie eine steigende Zahl von Menschen rund um den Globus zu glauben scheint) bereits am Dienstag bei uns vorstellen wollen, kommen nicht, um die Erde zu erobern. Das hört man gern, aber es kommt sogar noch besser:
"Wir kommen, um eurer Welt zu helfen. Wir kommen nicht, um sie zu übernehmen. Wir kommen nicht, um zu zerstören. Wir kommen, um euch Hoffnung zu bringen."
Das - man beachte die Anführungszeichen - sagen die Aliens von der Föderation des Lichts selbst, und zwar durch das Medium Blossom Goodchild.

In memoriam Kurt Weinzierl ändert der ORF sein Programm. Neben einem Beitrag im "Kulturmontag" bringt der ORF am Dienstag, um 22.45 Uhr in ORF 1 die letzte, 1984 entstandene "Kottan ermittelt"-Folge "Mabuse kehrt zurück".
Am Samstag (18.) zeigt ORF 2 um 13.10 Uhr den Dokumentarspiel "Der Fall Jägerstätter" von Axel Corti (Regie) und Hellmut Andics (Drehbuch) aus dem Jahr 1971. Kurt Weinzierl verkörperte darin die Titelrolle des mittlerweile selig gesprochenen Kriegsdienstverweigerers.
