New Living Colour
The cult of personality will continue on this fall, when purveyors of hard funk-rock Living Colour return with "The Chair In The Doorway" - the band's first set of new material in nearly six years. Due September 15 on Megaforce Records, the eleven song set was recorded in numerous locations over the last few years, with a majority of the sessions taking place at Sono Studios outside of Prague in the Czech Republic.

West Midlands crackdown nets £2.6m drugs in a week
POLICE in the West Midlands seized nearly £2.6 million worth of cannabis, cocaine and heroin during a major drugs crackdown, they revealed today.
Throughout the course of the week, which formed part of a nationwide operation, officers in the region carried out 61 raids on suspected cannabis factories and crack houses.

Prince of Pot Not Worried About Jail
The prince of pot took shots at the government and praised parenthood yesterday in his last words to Edmonton supporters before heading to jail this fall.
Alberta's capital was Marc Emery's latest stop in his farewell summer tour of Canada.
"I'm not repentant. I'm not trite. I'm proud of what I've done," said Emery before dozens at Beaver Hill House Park, 105 Street and Jasper Avenue.

Big Ben rings in 150th birthday
A giant birthday message is to be projected on to Parliament's clock tower to mark 150 years since the first ringing of Big Ben.
The Great Bell struck its first hour on 11 July 1859 and a year of celebrations is taking place for the anniversary.
The message reading "Happy Birthday Big Ben, 150 years, 1859 - 2009," will be beamed on to the tower after sunset.
