WIKILEAKS NOT CONSIDERED FOR KNIGHT FOUNDATION AWARD
Here at WIKILEAKS the news that we had been passed over for $537,000 in funding came as a terrible blow to the dedicated unpaid volunteers and activists that form the core of the organization. We are all beginning to understand just how Assange's autocratic management style, questionable use of donor funding, and sometime behavior bordering on paranoia compromised our chances of obtaining funding from the Knight Foundation.

Antville Is Nine – Happy Birthday!
On the occasion of the ninth birthday of Antville I just uploaded the packages for the new official Antville Release 1.2 to the development site.
Please feel free to take a look. I particularly recommend trying out the AntClick package. It contains everything you need to run Antville on your own computer – including web server, database, bells and whistles and all. And it is easily installed and configured. Two clicks, as usual.

Firefoxers howl as privacy add-on auto updates with 'bloatware' - Overstuffed TACO
Firefox users are howling that a widely-used browser add-on designed to protect them from unwanted cookie tracking has been automatically updated with what they see as overly intrusive "bloatware".
On June 14, after it was acquired by a software outfit known as Abine, a new version of the TACO behavioral-ad–blocking add-on was pushed out via Mozilla's auto-update process — which means it has received Mozilla's approval — and an army of users are complaining of a kind of privacy add-on bait-and-switch.

Spammer's $11 Million Win Against Anti-Spammer Spamhaus, Reduced To $27,000
Many years back, an "email marketing" company called e360 Insight got upset that the anti-spam advocacy group Spamhaus included e360 on its list of biggest spammers -- a list that many service providers used for spam filtering. So, it sued claiming defamation. What followed was a bit silly, as Spamhaus (based in the UK) initially responded, but then started ignoring the lawsuit, claiming that a US court meant nothing to the UK-based operation.

Exclusive Interview with Robbo: On Banksy, Graffiti and More
I ordered a Budweiser and anxiously looked at my mobile. It was 7:50pm on a Friday night and Robbo has agreed to meet me at the Princess of Wales pub in Primrose Hill, London*. This friendly little pub was filled to the rafters with people who had gathered to watch the world cup on the two TV screen at either end of the bar.

The Mineral Miracle? Or a Massive Information Operation?
Were it not for the byline of James Risen, a New York Times reporter currently in a legal battle with the Obama administration over the identity of his sources, a second read of his blockbuster A1 story this morning, U.S. Identifies Vast Riches of Minerals in Afghanistan, would engender some fairly acute skepticism. For one, a simple Google search identifies any number of previous stories with similar details.
