Er galt als glaubwürdigster Jugendversteher seiner Generation, stritt für die Entkrampfung der Sexualität und gegen eine heuchlerische Drogenpolitik: Nun ist der Sozialwissenschaftler Günter Amendt im Alter von 71 Jahren bei einem tragischen Verkehrsunfall ums Leben gekommen.
Seine bekanntesten Bücher hießen Sex Front" und "Sexbuch", als politischer Sexualaufklärer wurde er berühmt - und für viele berüchtigt. Doch Günter Amendts Interesse hatte sich schon vor vielen Jahren vom Sexualpolitischen zum Drogenthema verschoben. Trotzdem saß er noch bei seinen alten Freunden und der Sache treu im Beirat der Zeitschrift für Sexualforschung, dem Zentralorgan einer aufklärenden, neugierigen Wissenschaft vom Sexuellen, für die das Alphabet der Wahrnehmung nicht bei Koitusfrequenzen, Verhaltenstherapie und Viagra aufhört.

4chan hackers leak internal Bank of America emails
Anonymous, a group of online hackers that frequently take up politically charged causes such as bringing down the websites for Visa and other credit card companies, has released a massive batch of internal Bank of America emails.
It looks like the hacker group, which frequents online message board 4chan, made good on a promise Wikileaks founder Julian Assange made several months ago. Anonymous sided with Assange when several sites and services like PayPal cut ties with Wikileaks’ enigmatic founder amid concerns about the legality of the site. Assange and Wikileaks indicated that they planned to publish the documents in December.

Vorratsdaten in Frankreich: Auch Passwörter werden gespeichert
Am 25. Februar ist in Frankreich das Gesetz (eigentlich: Dekret) zur Umsetzung der Vorratsdatenspeicherungs-Richtlinie der EU beschlossen worden, die Veröffentlichung im Amtsblatt erfolgte am 1. März. Neben den bereits bekannten und in der Richtlinie genannten Daten wie IP-Adressen, Telefonnummern, Email-Adressen etc., aus denen man bereits unglaublich viel über die Teilnehmer erfahren kann, ist in letzter Sekunde die Liste der zu speichernden Daten um “Passwörter” (mots de passe) ergänzt worden.

Nuke crisis raises many questions, no easy answers
The nuclear crisis in Japan has developed rapidly on many fronts, making it difficult to track the threads. What are the dangers? Will the situation improve? Can the reactors be cooled?
The crisis began Friday when a magnitude-8.9 earthquake and tsunami cut off regular electricity to the oldest unit at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear complex, 170 miles (270 kilometers) northeast of Tokyo.

What appears to be another hydrogen blast has occurred at a nuclear power plant in Fukushima. No damage to the reactor chamber has been reported, but 11 people have been injured.

Vulkan Shinmoedake in Japan ausgebrochen
Nach Erdbeben, Tsunami und Atomunfällen jetzt auch noch das: Im Südwesten Japans hat heute der Vulkan Shinmoedake Asche und Gestein in die Atmosphäre geschleudert. Die Asche sei dabei bis in eine Höhe von 4000 Metern gelangt, teilten die Behörden mit.

Japan's Shinmoedake volcano spews ash and rock two days after quake
The Japanese weather agency has reported that a volcano in southern Japan began spewing ash and rock even as the country struggled to recover Sunday from the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami.
Japan's Meteorological Agency issued a warning Sunday that the Shinmoedake volcano resumed activity after lying dormant for a couple of weeks.

Kühlsystem in weiterem AKW in Japan ausgefallen - AKW Tokai [Tōkai ] - Nuklearer Notstand um AKW Onagawa
In einem weiteren Atomkraftwerk in Japan ist heute das Kühlsystem ausgefallen, wie die Nachrichtenagentur Kyodo unter Berufung auf die Feuerwehr berichtet. Es handelt sich um das AKW Tokai an der Ostküste südlich von Fukushima.

Cooling system pump stops at Tokai No.2 plant
The Tōkai Nuclear Power Plant (東海発電所, Tōkai hatsudensho?, Tōkai NPP) was Japan's first nuclear power plant. It was built in the early 1960s to the British Magnox design, and generated power from 1966 until it was decommissioned in 1998. A second nuclear plant, built at the site in the 1970s, was the first in Japan to produce over 1000 MW of electricity, and still produces power as of 2009. The site is located in Tokai in the Naka District in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan and is operated by the Japan Atomic Power Company.

Japan declares state of emergency at second nuclear power facility after excessive radiation levels were detected at Onagawa plant.
XCESSIVE levels of radiation at a second Japanese nuclear facility after Friday's earthquake have led authorities to report a state of emergency there, the UN nuclear agency said.
'Japanese authorities have informed the IAEA that the first or lowest state of emergency at the Onagawa nuclear power plant has been reported by Tohoku Electric Power Company,' the International Atomic Energy Agency said Sunday.
