South Colombia man has penis amputated after Viagra overdose
The 66-year old man from the tiny town of Gigante, Huila, confessed to the local newspaper he had overdosed on Viagra in an attempt to please his new girlfriend.
However, as a result of his overly enthusiastic penis-enhancing-drug use, the anonymous man — who claims to be a former member of the Gigante municipal council — found that his penis had gone into an apparently constant state of erection.

Dinosaur Feathers Found in Ancient Amber
Fluffy structures trapped in thumbnail-sized bits of ancient amber may represent some of the earliest evolutionary experiments leading to feathers, according to a new study. These filaments of "dinofuzz" are so well preserved that they even provide hints of color, the researchers say.
The oldest bird, Archaeopteryx, lived in what is now Germany about 150 million years ago, and the oldest known feathered dinosaur, Anchiornis huxleyi, lived in northeastern China between 151 million and 161 million years ago.

Chaos Computer Club hackt Apple TouchID

Tesla Patents Next-Gen Electric Car Battery that Gets 400 Miles on a Single Charge
Over the years, one of the biggest obstacles to widespread electric vehicle adoption has been the issue of how far the car can travel on one charge. Cars that can only travel 100 miles without plugging in might be okay for your commute to and from work, but since charging stations aren’t as easily-accessible as gas stations, longer distances pose a problem. That’s the issue Tesla Motors is trying to solve with an innovative new type of battery it has just filed to patent — a hybrid lithium-ion and metal-air battery pack that could extend the range of the company’s electric vehicles to 400 miles between charges.

Senator asks if FBI can get iPhone 5S fingerprint data via Patriot Act
Since Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) arrived in the United States Senate, he’s become the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Privacy, Technology and the Law. He’s made it his mission to raise questions about tech issues that he feels are improper, unjust, or just downright questionable.
The debut of the new iPhones 5S, replete with a fingerprint reader, has now also gotten Franken’s attention. On Thursday, the Minnesota senator published a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook, raising questions about the logic in making fingerprint readers more mainstream.

Douglas Adams was RIGHT! TINY ALIENS invaded Earth, say boffins
Aliens rained down on Earth from space, sprinkling microbes on our once lifeless planet, according to boffins from the University of Sheffield.
And the scientists claim they managed to photograph one of the extraterrestrial blighters from a balloon.
The balloon was launched to a height of 27km, which the eggheads argue puts it above the usual height of any terrestrial microbes floating around the atmosphere.

Crowdfunded Bounty For Hacking iPhone 5S Fingerprint Authentication
There's more than $13,000 pledged for a crowdfunded bounty for bypassing an iPhone 5S's fingerprint reader. The bounty, set up by a security expert and an exploit reseller requires entrants to lift prints 'like from a beer mug.' It has a website — IsTouchIDHackedYet — and payments are pledged by tweets using #IsTouchIDHackedYet. One drawback: the scheme appears to rely on trust that sponsors will actually pay up

So, Linus Torvalds: Did US spooks demand a backdoor in Linux? 'Yes'
Linux supremo Linus Torvalds jokingly admitted US spooks approached him to put a backdoor into his open-source operating system.
During a question-and-answer session at the LinuxCon gathering in New Orleans this week, Torvalds and his fellow kernel programmers were asked by moderator Ric Wheeler whether America's g-men leaned on the Finn to compromise Linux's security, allowing spies to infiltrate computers.
Torvalds replied with a firm "no" while nodding his head to say yes, a response greeted with laughter from the audience. He quickly followed up by repeating "no" while shaking his head in the negative.
