So langsam macht sich der Sommer um seinen Namen verdient: Die Temperaturen steigen, der Winter ist vergessen und es ist Festivalzeit! Und Festivals gibt es am kommenden Wochenende wieder eine ganze Menge.

Glastonbury Festival 2010
Last weekend in Glastonbury, England, on a site covering 1,000 acres, the 40th annual Glastonbury Festival was held at Worthy Farm. Started by a dairy farmer, Michael Evis in 1970 it has grown into the largest music festival in Europe. This year's headline acts on the main stage included Muse, Gorillaz and Stevie Wonder. Thousands of attendees were treated to a sunny weekend in the country with plenty to see, hear and experience. Collected here are 40 images from Glastonbury 2010 for its 40th anniversary. Talkshow-Legende Larry King hört auf
Er und seine Sendung gelten als Institutionen im Fernsehgeschäft, aber jetzt soll bald Schluss damit sein: CNN-Legende Larry King kündigte nun an, seine Talkshow nach mehr als 25 Jahren im Herbst einzustellen. Er wolle endlich mehr Zeit mit Frau und Kindern verbringen, begründete der 76-Jährige die Entscheidung. Hinter der Hand wird über andere Gründe gemunkelt. Seine Einschaltquoten stürzten zuletzt ab, das Publikum interessierte sich offenbar mehr für die Probleme Kings mit seiner achten Ehefrau.

Larry King to end CNN show in autumn after 25 years
King, 76, said in a statement he would still host specials for CNN on major events, but wanted to spend more time with his wife and young children.
Known for his non-confrontational style and for wearing colored suspenders, King has interviewed a broad array of guests from Hollywood stars to politicians and athletes.

Mysterious new crop circles at UFO capital of Britain in Wiltshire
The circular 90m (300ft) design, believed to represent the passage of the Moon and Sun, contains 193 rings, including six key circles and a seventh in the centre.
Crop circle expert Karen Alexander said: ‘This is the most complex circle so far this year.’ The formation, near the village of Mere, is the first in the area since 1997.

EU to ban selling eggs by dozen
Under the draft legislation, to come into force as early as next year, the sale of groceries using the simple measurement of numbers will be replaced by an EU-wide system based on weight.
It would mean an end to packaging descriptions such as eggs by the dozen, four-packs of apples, six bread rolls or boxes of 12 fish fingers.

Berlusconi-Buddy zu sieben Jahren Haft verurteilt
Er gilt als rechte Hand von Premier Berlusconi und soll dessen Partei Forza Italia mit Hilfe der Mafia groß gemacht haben: Jetzt hat ein Gericht in Palermo Marcello Dell'Utri zu einer langjährigen Haftstraffe verurteilt. Ein Meilenstein in der Rechtsprechung? Wohl kaum.

Vatican says not liable in U.S. sexual abuse case
The Vatican, struggling to control the damage to its image from a sexual abuse scandal, said Tuesday it would prove it cannot be held legally responsible for a predatory priest in a pivotal U.S. lawsuit.
