RTL tumbles into loss as advertising market plummets
European television and radio broadcaster RTL Group on Wednesday reported a first-half net loss of 105 million euros (150 million dollars) thanks to plummeting advertising revenues.

Provider klemmt Pirate Bay ab, geht selbst unter
Der Kampf um die Piratenbucht geht weiter - an mehreren Fronten. Ein schwedischer Internetprovider hat The Pirate Bay auf gerichtliche Anordnung hin aus dem Netz geworfen, nun ist er selbst offline. Der Kauf der Bittorrent-Plattform wird womöglich platzen, denn die Käufer stehen unter Betrugsverdacht. Die Musikbranche jubelt bereits.

California Senate Urges Change in Federal Medical Marijuana Rules
By a 23-15 vote, the California State Senate on Monday approved a "joint resolution" urging the federal government to stop Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) raids on medical marijuana patients and providers. The Sen. Mark Leno-authored resolution additionally calls for the nation to "create a comprehensive federal medical marijuana policy that ensures safe and legal access to any patient that would benefit from it."
