Asus Eee Keyboard dissected
The Asus Eee Keyboard is basically a computer crammed inside a keyboard case. The idea is that users will be able to connect the keyboard to a HDTV using wireless HDMI in order to access web content on a big screen TV from the comfort of your couch. On the inside, the keyboard basically has your typical netbook components, including a 1.66Ghz Intel Atom N280 CPU, a solid state disk, and a battery. The keyboard also has a 5 inch, 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen that lets you use the keyboard without a TV/display or which can act as touch-interface for your larger display.

[W]e are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates.

California Stations Reject Ad Calling For Pot Legalization
A pro-marijuana group is launching another television bid to legalize pot in California — this time with the pitch that legalizing and taxing the drug could help solve the state’s massive budget deficit.
The 30-second spot, airing Wednesday and paid for by the Marijuana Policy Project, features a retired 58-year-old state worker who says state leaders “are ignoring millions of Californians who want to pay taxes.”

Sir Terry Pratchett sets out a dignified way to go
Since being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, Sir Terry Pratchett has been outspoken in his support of the right for the terminally ill to die with dignity.
And for his own death, the author has particular hopes, Mandrake can disclose.
Speaking at The Oldie Literary Lunch held at Simpson's-in-the-Strand, Sir Terry drew gasps from the audience, which included Joanna Lumley and Virginia McKenna, when he described how he would like his own life to end. "Since I was told I had Alzheimer's my mind has been very concentrated on this," he said. "My way to end my life will be to sit on my lawn at my home in Wiltshire with a bottle of brandy and Thomas Tallis playing on my iPod. I can't think of a better way to make my departure. Hopefully the doctor will have been around earlier to give me the appropriate injection."

Can Urine Rescue Hydrogen-Powered Cars?
It's been a rough couple of years for cars powered by hydrogen fuel cells. As the drums beat louder for electric cars--the 2011 Chevrolet Volt, Nissan's upcoming EV, and more--the hydrogen chorus is waning.
But perhaps there's hope. And perhaps it's as close as your nearest urinal. Or, more politely, your local sewage treatment facility.

Viel Hype, wenig Substanz - Botschafter findet Brüno "unpassend"
