The Pirate Bay Will Close Its Tracker and Remove Torrents (Updated)
Alongside the news that The Pirate Bay will sell shares on the Swedish stock market come some other significant changes. The site itself will decentralize and stop hosting and tracking torrents. Instead, The Pirate Bay will use a third party tracker and torrent hosting service to serve its users.

Schwedische IT-Firma kauft The Pirate Bay
Die schwedische IT-Firma Global Gaming Factory hat angekündigt, die Website The Pirate Bay zum Preis von umgerechnet 5,5 Millionen Euro übernehmen zu wollen. Auf der alten Piraten-Domain soll ein neues Vertriebssystem für digitale Medieninhalte entstehen. Die alte Pirate Bay ist damit wohl Geschichte.

The Pirate Bay Sold For $7.8 Million
Today, Swedish software company Global Gaming Factory X AB has announced it has acquired The Pirate Bay website for 60 million SEK, which is roughly the equivalent of 7.8 million dollars.
This was almost immediately confirmed by The Pirate Bay. Although the title of their post is entitled “TPB might change owner,” from the text of the post it is obvious that the site has indeed been sold.

Glastonbury 2009 - The Big Picture
