Spielwelten in grüngrau und ein Plastikgehäuse in Elefantenfarbe: Nintendos Gameboy war billig, aber gut genug für einen Weltrekord. Vor 20 Jahren eroberte die Handheld-Konsole erst Japan und dann die ganze Welt - keine Spielkonsole wurde häufiger gekauft als der Plastikzwerg.
Simpel war die Grafik des Gameboy, aber zumindest nicht schwarzweiß: Die taschenbuchgroße Handheld-Spielkonsole, die Nintendo vor 20 Jahren in Japan in die Läden brachte, stellte die Spielwelten in vier Grautönen auf grünem Hintergrund dar.

Victory for EU Citizens! Amendment 138 was voted again.
Strasbourg, April 21 2009 - Once again, the European Parliament has demonstrated it can resist pressure and stand for the rights and freedoms of citizens. Amendment 138 (now renumbered amendment 46) was adopted today in ITRE committe, in Strasbourg.
Amendement 138/46-135 states that restrictions to the fundamental rights and freedoms of Internet users can only be put in place after a decision by judicial authorities (save when public security is threatened in which case the ruling may be subsequent). It was adopted last September by an overwhelming majority of the European Parliament, and approved by the European Commission despite explicit requests from the French Presidency to reject it. The European Council has rejected it further to pressure of the French government and some disinformation by in-house Council lawyers on its claimed contradiction with existing National law.

Study Finds Pirates Buy 10x More Music Online than Non-Pirates
A study from the BI Norwegian School of Management has found that those who download free music from services like BitTorrent are also the biggest legitimate consumers of downloadable music.
In fact, among all 1,901 Norway-based study participants (all of whom were over the age of 15), it was found that those who downloaded "free" music were 10x more likely to download pay music. In other words, music pirates are the music industry's largest online consumers.

Heute erst mit Jeriko im Zuge der Aktion „I ♥ Blogs“ über das Blog Agitpop gesprochen, das jetzt seit einem halben Jahr nicht mehr aktualisiert wurde und das wir beide als eins der besten der deutschen Blogosphäre erachteten… da poppt abends auf einmal ein Posting im Feedreader auf! Und dann auch noch gleich ein Streitgespräch von Björn mit seinem Buddy Kaliban über Copyright. Sehr lesenswert.

$2100 Prince iPod box sets selling fast
Sounds great, right? Well, the rather sizeable downfall is that the gadget costs $2,100, or $140 per song. That’s because the iPod comes with the “Prince 21 Nights Opus,” a book of photography of “21 Nights” shot by Randee St. Nicholas and including lyrics and poetry by the artist himself. According to the Opus site, the tome is more than 200 pages (each measuring 13 by 20 inches) and weighing in at “an epic 17 kg,” is bound in leather and comes in a velvet-covered case.
