State bill would decriminalize possession of less than an ounce of marijuana
John Carusello has sold pipes and related products for 30 years at his Lakewood Road shop, and he would love to see his customers put those products to use without fear of jail.
"We sell everything for tobacco," Carusello said, carefully, from behind a counter stocked with glass pipes in a wide range of colors, shapes and sizes. What goes in those pipes when the customers go home, Carusello said, is not his business. "We don't ask."

Former cop: Legalizing drugs will help fight gang violence

That's what one 28-year veteran Vancouver Police officer is saying about the ongoing wave of gang violence in Metro Vancouver.
Tony Smith says keeping drugs illegal will only lead to more murders.
Smith says he isn't the only one who thinks this way.

MIT Unveils 90 MPH Solar Race Car
MIT's latest solar race car might look like a funky Ikea table with a hump, but don't laugh. It'll do 90 mph and is packed with technology that may end up in the hybrids and EVs the rest of us will soon be driving.
The university's Solar Electric Vehicle Team, the oldest such team in the country, unveiled the $243,000 carbon-fiber racer dubbed Eleanor on Friday and is shaking the car down to prepare for its inaugural race later this year.
