The Japanese people on whaling… We don’t care… What’s for dinner?


Recently in the international news media there has been a lot of hype surrounding photos released by the Australian government showing whaling by Japanese scientific research fleets [those interested can read British, American, and Australian ]. As an Australian who often checks newspaper websites from home, I found it was a featured news story getting a lot of attention. The Australian federal environmental minister went on the record and called the images “sickening.”

"Marihuana oder Hasch pur bleiben erlaubt"


Vom 1. Juli an gilt ohnehin in den Niederlanden ein Rauchverbot, und ich wollte nicht warten, bis es unseren Coffeshop überrollt und alle nur jammern, wie schrecklich das Verbot ist. Wir wollen es selber steuern, uns unterscheiden von allen anderen, und unsere Mitarbeiter sind wirklich sehr froh darüber.

Wanna Beat Piracy? You Have to Do Better Than Them!


Is piracy killing the record industry, or is the record industry just too slow and inert to adapt to the way business should be run nowadays, and that is online? My vote goes to the latter; in fact, I think they aren’t even trying hard enough.

Internet users could face disconnection for illegal downloads


Internet users who illegally download music and films could lose their access to the web under legislation aimed at cracking down on those who flout piracy laws. Powers being drafted by the government will compel internet service providers to take action against customers who access pirated material.
