With bright Mars, full moon Christmas Eve, Santa could give Rudolph night off
Miami Space Transit Planetarium director Jack Horkheimer said the red planet will shine brighter because it will be directly opposite the sun, reflecting the most light, and fairly close to Earth, only 89.3 million kilometres away. The full moon will appear nearby, rising about an hour later, said Horkheimer, host of the public television show "Star Gazer."

Eco-Boat Powered Attempts Round the World Speed Record
The 24 metre Earthrace, skippered by New Zealander Pete Bethune, will set off from Valencia, Spain, on March 1 and traverse the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans as well as the Panama and Suez canals in its more than 24,000-nautical-mile journey.

HP & Staples Collude On $8,000/Gallon Ink?
HP and Staples are facing an anti-trust lawsuit over replacement printer cartridges. According to the lawsuit, HP paid Staples $100 million to refuse to stock competing ink cartridges. HP could make that back in short order when you consider that printer ink can cost $8,000 per gallon and certain printers deceive users to waste as much as 64% of their ink

'Active glacier found' on Mars
A probable active glacier has been identified for the first time on Mars.
The icy feature has been spotted in images from the European Space Agency's (Esa) Mars Express spacecraft.
