Paint fragment from Belmont Art Park
This is an extreme closeup scan (2400 dpi) of a paint chip retrieved from the ruins of Belmont Art Park by Amy McKenzie earlier this year. The fragment is about 1cm thick, and appears to consist of about 150-200 layers of paint. (For a sense of scale, note the ridges of my fingerprint in the lower right.) This should give you an idea of the staggering number of pieces painted in this spot over the decades.

How to spot someone who's not telling the truth
In a famous fairy story, Pinocchio's nose grew longer when he was telling a lie. Surprisingly, most of us give off signals when we are not being truthful which are just as obvious.
Personnel managers in companies are learning to look for these give-away signs to pick out dishonest employees. They hope to take credit for weeding out a future Nick Leeson, the man blamed for ruining Barings Bank, before their firm suffers a similar fate.

MI6 seeks budding Bonds through Radio 1
The Secret Intelligence Service, more commonly known as MI6, is mounting a recruitment drive this week to attract budding James Bonds, though without the licence to kill.
Like its sister agency, the domestic Security Service, MI5, it wants, in the words of an official, to "broaden its staff base" to "better reflect the ethnicity of the community we serve".
