RIAA klagt Usenet.com
Wie am Dienstag bekannt wurde, brachte der Verband der US-Musikkonzerne am Freitag Klage gegen Usenet.com ein. In der Klage wird dem Newsgroup-Anbieter vorgeworfen, dass über die von ihm zugänglich gemachten Usenet-Gruppen Millionen urheberrechtlich geschützter Files abrufbar seien.

The mother of a two-year-old Wisconsin boy shared a marijuana blunt with her child as friends laughed, filmed the child smoking, and asked, "Hey buddy, are you stoned?" Krystle Leigh Weber, 20, was charged yesterday along with two male friends with pot possession and contributing to the delinquency of a minor (Weber was also hit with a child neglect rap, also a misdemeanor).

The amount of Afghan land used for growing opium is now larger than the combined total under coca cultivation in Latin America - Colombia, Peru and Bolivia. No other country has produced narcotics on such a deadly scale since China in the 19 th century. Opium in Afghanistan: Eradicate or subsidize?

JFK 'drug smuggling ring' charged
At least 18 people have been charged in the United States over an alleged drug smuggling ring operating via JFK airport in New York.
Prosecutors say baggage handlers and workers for Delta Airline were involved in smuggling heroin and cocaine into the US from the Dominican Republic.
