Hands-on with Texas Instruments' cellphone projector
Now that we have email, internet, TV, GPS, cameras, and satellite radio on our cellphones, our next wish is for bigger, higher resolution screens -- which seems paradoxical, because larger displays almost always mean bulkier devices. Well Texas Instruments thinks it'll soon be able to nullify this trade-off with an in-handset projector that we've heard about several times before, but last night's Pepcom event in New York was the first time we've been able to peep the technology up close.

Hacking group alleges attack via PDF
The hacking group GNUCitizen claimed on Thursday to have found a critical flaw in Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) format that could let an attacker compromise a computer running the Windows operating system, if the user opens a specially-crafted PDF file.

Kits that claim to help people hack into computers have been discovered for sale on the auction website eBay.
Security experts found a selection of CDs, DVDs and programs for sale on eBay that promise to help buyers learn how to break into computers over the net.

F1 secrets left on the web
Highly-sensitive documents that disclosed secret information about the inner workings of the technical strategies adopted by rival Formula One (F1) teams were exposed for all to see on the internet.
Over the past few months F1 motor racing has been racked by controversy surrounding revelations that the McLaren team had been spying on its rival Ferrari by obtaining confidential technical documents.
Just last week, McLaren was fined $100m (£50m) and stripped of all its constructors' championship points.

Double awards win for Winehouse
Soul singer Amy Winehouse has been named female artist of the year at two music award ceremonies in London.
The star collected her trophy at the Mobo (Music of Black Origin) Awards at the O2 arena, where she performed two songs from her album Back to Black.

Scores of pub-goers in Bicester were tested for traces of illegal drugs during a police operation aimed at tackling violent street crime.
Police used the force's new drugs itemiser - which scans people for traces of banned substances - at the Litten Tree pub.
