Fans gear up for Monty Python day
Hundreds of fans from across the world are set to descend on Doune Castle this weekend for the third Monty Python Day.
The 14th Century keep was made famous as Castle Anthrax in the 1975 classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Spike Lee Helps Launch Online Film Festival
Spike Lee is to preside over an online film festival which will aim to make it easier for budding filmmakers to showcase their talents.
The Babelgum online film festival, named after the internet TV network, will showcase films that are shorter than 45 minutes long, either shot in English or with English-language subtitles.

WeBot Brings Media Streaming to the iPhone
WeBot is aiming to make sharing digital files from your home computer that much easier .
Currently still in beta, the service consists of a desktop application that turns your home computer in to a server. Install it on all your computers and you can then access all of your JPEGs and MP3s over the Internet. The desktop application will currently work with Windows XP & Vista, Mac OS X, and Linux.

iPhone Hacking Kit, the next generation
In mid-August, I posted a detailed guide to hacking your iPhone here at iPhone Central. In those free-wheeling bygone days of iPhone hacking you customized and manipulated your phone using a combination of a simple “jailbreak” application and a lot of command-line work in the Mac terminal. To hack your phone then, you had to have access to a lot of different files, you had to transfer these files using arcane commands, and you had to make sure not to screw up, or miss any steps, lest you be forced to start over. If things went well, the entire process took 30-45 minutes.

Opera 9.5 Beats Firefox and IE7 As Fastest Browser
Ars Technica takes Opera 9.5, the latest from Opera's stable, for a test run and finds some interesting results, including it being a 'solid improvement to an already very strong browser.' On the performance front, Ars Technica reports 'Opera 9.5 scored slightly higher (281ms) than the previous released version, 9.23 (546ms). And Opera 9.x, let it be known, smacks silly the likes of Firefox and Internet Explorer, which tend to have results in the 900-1500ms range on this test machine (a 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo with 2GB RAM). Opera was 50 percent faster on average than Firefox, and 100 percent faster than IE7 on Windows Vista, for instance.

A pair of former Northeastern University freshmen are facing charges after prosecutors said one leaned out his dorm window Sunday and loudly told a woman in the dorm opposite his that he and his roommate were selling pot.
Oops. Two police officers happened to be nearby.

Dealer calls cops after pot stash stolen
A marijuana dealer telephoned police after armed thieves stole his quarter-pound stash of pot. The 19-year-old Felton man told police that two men, one of them armed with a handgun, robbed him at gunpoint as he sat in his car on Tuesday night.
