Aus einem Folientunnel in Pamhagen sind drei Tonnen Paradeiser verschwunden - ein Diebstahl wurde angezeigt. Der Fall erinnert an den Sommer 2002, als Gemüsediebe zwei Wochen lang die Bauern im Seewinkel in Atem hielten.

A Chinese couple seeking a distinctive and modern name for their child chose the commonly used @ symbol., much to the consternation of Chinese officials.
The unidentified couple and the attempted naming were cited Thursday by a Chinese government official as an example of bizarre names creeping into the Chinese language.

The Giant's Causeway
The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns resulting from a volcanic eruption. It is located on the North East coast of Northern Ireland, about 3 kilometres (2 miles) north of the town of Bushmills. Legend has it that the Irish giant Finn McCool built the causeway to walk to Scotland to fight his Scottish counterpart Benandonner.

Skype Works on Software Flaw Suspected in Worldwide Outage
Problems continued yesterday for Skype, an Internet-based phone company, as it tried to patch up a software glitch that left many of its 220 million customers disconnected.
Worldwide disruption spanning Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America began on Thursday, prompting rumors on the Web about the cause of the outage, including speculation that the service had been attacked by Russian hackers, or that the failure was the result of problems caused by a recent software update.

Skype Comes Back, Do You Still Trust It?
Skype was back up and running on Saturday, but the question remains if this week’s outage will have a lasting effect on the confidence people place in the service. Will anyone feel comfortable using Skype as their primary voice communications tool if a multi-day outage is possible?
