The array of statistics, which includes how much the average person will eat, spend, love, shop, travel and waste, was the brainchild of Nick Watts, the programme’s producer, who came up with the idea three years ago while having a pint of beer in a pub.
He said: "I was thinking to myself how full a swimming pool would become if I tipped into it all the beer I drank in a lifetime."
Mr Watts and his team spent the next two years compiling hundreds of statistics and then came up with ways of visualising them, including a Hansel and Gretel house built with 10,000 bars of chocolate and more than 15,000 pints of "milk" (water and powder paint) left on a doorstep.

RIAA Forces YouTube to Remove Free Guitar Lessons
"Is it so wrong to learn how to play the guitar? According to NPR, a record company ordered YouTube to remove videos of a man who offered to show people how to play the guitar for free. One of the songs that he taught was copyrighted, and as a result over 100 of his videos were removed from the internet. 'Since he put his Web site up last year, he has developed a long waiting list for the lessons he teaches in person. And both he and Taub say that's still the best way to learn. If someone tells Sandercoe to take down his song lessons, he says he will. But his most valuable videos are the ones that teach guitar basics -- things like strumming, scales and finger-picking. And even in the digital age, no one holds a copyright on those things.' How could this constitute as infringement if most musicians usually experiment to find something that sounds familiar?

Defense Department offers $1 million for wearable power supply
The Department of Defense wants to pay you $1 million to come up with a lightweight "wearable power" battery pack for soldiers. The DoD says typical soldier going out for a four-day mission carries as much as 40 pounds of batteries and rechargers in his pack and it wants to fix that. The goal is to reduce the weight for the power system that drives radios, night-vision devices, global positioning systems and other combat gear, including a recharging system, to about 2 pounds per day The DoD is looking to mimic the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency which has experienced successes using contests to attract competitors to develop innovative unmanned vehicles and other objects.

Penis panic - Town freaks out that their traffic devices look phallic
The City of Keizer is taking heat for installing a group of cement posts designed to protect pedestrians from cars, but which some say is a phallic symbol.
A total of 52 of the posts were installed at a busy intersection in Keizer and they are getting a lot of second glances.
A number of residents have complained to the city that the posts resemble male genitalia.
