Robo-salamander's evolution clues
A robot is being used by a Franco-Swiss team to investigate how the first land animals on Earth might have walked.
The bot looks a lot like a salamander; and the scientists can change the way it swims, slithers and crawls with commands sent wirelessly from a PC.

Israel's Killer 'Bot: Safe Enough for War?
In late 2004, the U.S. Army introduced a ground robot, modified to carry a machine gun, grenade launcher, or anti-tank rockets. Someday, not too far off, these modified Talon 'bots (ordinarily used for bomb disposal) would be headed into Iraq -- marking the first appearance of unmanned infantry.

You can hide the newspaper from anybody in your house who is offended by the anatomical name of a body part.
Apparently there is a significant body of opinion that young readers are too fragile to withstand exposure to such a word.

These webcams were found automatically through a variety of clever search techniques. Their owners might or might not have intended for them to be public. But they obviously are. Many of them are security cameras in companies or semi-public places. If you hover over the picture you'll see what location information is available. If you click on it, a window will open and you can see a live video feed, plus comments and ratings and other information. 1399 webcams are available as of last scan.
