Fake Holograms a 3-D Crime Wave


If you have a credit card or just bought a copy of Windows Vista, you're familiar with security holograms -- those sparkly bits of film that vouch for the validity of everything from driver's licenses to software and sports league items.

It turns out, they're aren't as secure as they are sparkly.

Warning over ePassport microchips


Microchips in Britain's new ePassports only have two-year warranties, a National Audit Office report says.

They are so new, no-one knows how long they will last, or how the scanners reading them will work, the NAO said.

The other day Grant Marshall, the Massive Attack member better known as Daddy G, was collecting his daughter from school when he fell into conversation with another parent, an Israeli woman. She asked when Massive Attack were next playing live. Marshall told her there would be three shows this month in aid of the Hoping Foundation. She asked what that was. He told her it was a charity that funds community projects for Palestinian refugee children.
